About

Lukasz started his career as a freelance web developer, in 2004 he joined Mouton Interactive, a multimedia agency from Poland. In the meantime he finished masters degree in the field of Computer Science at The University of Podlasie. After finishing his studies he moved to UK, where he joined THUK Online Marketing.

In June 2008 he has been delving into the world of PhD research on privacy rights management for mobile applications. Lukasz joined PRiMMA project, research team at The Open University, where he's trying to explore the role of feedback in privacy management for mobile applications and experiment with new interaction methods for expressing privacy preferences.

His research interest lies at the intersection of Interaction Design, Mobile Applications, Context-Awareness, Location Based Services, Privacy and Environmental Psychology. His main goal is to bring knowledge from different disciplines together in order to provide a natural user experience while using context-aware mobile applications.

Lukasz's research on usable privacy controls was published in SOUPS (Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security) and Mobile HCI (International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services) conferences, his work on haptic interfaces was also reported in The New Scientist and Tech Crunch eu blog.

As an active member of PRiMMA research team, Lukasz was involved in several research activities (systems design, development, user studies, interviews, focus groups), he co-authored research papers on privacy in mobile applications published in top conferences, i.e. CHI, UbiComp.

Lukasz lives in Milton Keynes, the best city in UK. In his free time (if there is any) he enjoys his family and works as a web consultant for companies from holiday industry such as Pogo Direct, Money Off Vouchers or Barrington Homes. His work activities include interaction design, information architecture, hi and low fidelity prototyping.

Lukasz is currently writing up his PhD thesis. Estimated submission time June 2011.
