About

My research interests mainly lie in the history of criminal justice, especially policing, in the UK during the last two hundred years or so. I'm also interested in the development of control systems more generally, in the history of criminal statistics, and in the inter-relationship between British and colonial policing.

I'm part of an active criminal justice history research centre which runs a regular seminar (in Milton Keynes, UK).

My teaching interests are in educational technology, using new and old media for public education and outreach, and in C16th-C20th history.
